Creating Tutorial Videos (Windows)

Recording tutorial videos for your students, or for eipsacademy.com, is not especially difficult, and you may already have all of the tools you need.

Using Freeware (and Inexpensive Hardware)
Using Existing Tools in Elk Island Public Schools

  • Input device: SMART Board
  • Drawing program: SMART Notebook, Paint, or PowerPoint
  • Screen recording program: SMART Recorder
  • Microphone: the one built into your laptop, or even a Rock Band microphone
  • Video editor (if necessary): Windows Movie Maker (free with Windows)
After you've recorded a video tutorial, upload it to YouTube or Vimeo and email the link or post it on your class website.
